Strictly Dinner

Though I am a bit shy
I would like to tell you ---
I think you are a nice guy.
So, if you do not mind,
I would like to extend some hospitality
of the most traditional kind.
Please accept this invitation to dinner.
Though I cannot guarantee the food,
it should be fine since I am no beginner.
Well, Sir tell me please.
Should I set one more plate upon the table?
Or, spend an evening
watching a sitcom on cable?
Now that I have shared my rhyme ---
I will await your call
to schedule a dinner time.
Short, like seven to nine?
