Grandma's Biscuits by the ANOMALY POET!!!

Grandma's Biscuits 2    cups of all purpose flour 1    tablespoon baking powder 1/3 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) or shortening 1    cup of milk Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a big bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut butter into small pieces over flour mixture. Use a pastry blender or fork to work the butter in until the texture is coarse like thick cornmeal or small soft pea size. Pour in the milk and stir just until you have a big sticky ball (no dry flour mixture in the middle, bottom or on sides of bowl). Dump the dough onto a clean, floured counter top, table or surface. Sprinkle with flour and work the dough just until it is not sticky. Press out with hands or a rolling pin until it 1/2 inch thick, but not thinner. Use a 2 inch biscuit cutter or glass, flour the lower edge and use it to cut biscuits out of the dough. Place on ungreased baking pan or cookie sheet. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Best if served hot with honey, jelly and butter; or some like them with gravy. Makes 12-14 bisciuts.
