![]() Written by Marilynn Bell aka Anomaly Poet | EASY MACARONI 2 cups of water 1 teaspoon canola cooking oil 1/2 cup elbow macaroni 1/4 cup cubed or shredded cheese Optional variations: Add or substitute freshly chopped broccoli or tomato for the cheese. In a 1 quart saucepan, bring the water and cooking oil to a boil. Add the macaroni and stir occassionally. Meanwhile, cube cheese if using Velvetta. Once macoroni has boiled until tender, drain off excess water and stir in cheese, cubed or shredded. Enjoy! Yield equals a 1 cup serving. Cooking oil keeps the pasta from sticking and bringing the water to a boil will ensure that your macaroni doesn't get pasty. 1/2 inch slice of the large 2 lb. package of Velvetta is just right for one serving. |
